Nothing (and no one) at Larkspur House is quite what it seems. The rooms have secret doors, and the people have secrets. It reminds me a little of the icebreaker game two truths and a lie, where you present three statements and the other person has to guess which one isn’t true. Usually you try to make one of the true statements something that doesn’t seem very likely to be accurate and the false statement one that seems totally plausible.
If Poppy were playing, she might say:
I sometimes see a girl behind me in the mirror.
I would never hurt anyone.
I’ve always wanted a family.
But of course, because this is Larkspur House, the implausible statement is the one that’s the most obviously true. Things are upside down! What would one of the other characters’ two truths and a lie be?
